This post probably does not need much explanation but it resonated with me because it describes the two versions of my life.

In my younger days, when I knew everything and nobody could tell me differently, I would act without thinking.

Unconcerned with consequences, as if they did not exist or apply to me.

Then I learned some harsh lessons.

After that, I think I was so afraid of the consequences that I was overly cautious and played it safe.

Now that I am older, I have realized that like so many things, the answer is not in the extremes, but in the balance of those extremes.
