You are not as wise as you think you are.
This quote from Theodore Isaac Rubin speaks for itself but is really resonated with me lately.
I don't know about you, but I feel like a shift is happening where we are getting reacquainted with kindness.
I am not saying we have not been kind in the past and I can only speak from my own experiences.
The last couple of years have been challenging. We are obsessed with being right and believe we are all-knowing in areas we actually do not have formal education or experience in, but read something on social media or Google, so somehow that "research" has made us an expert.
I know several instances where this has caused a divide in families and with lifelong friends that were once close.
This post is not to debate any of those hot buttons but to instead approach it from an angle of kindness.
What if we trusted others to think for themselves based on their own experiences and knowledge and removed ourselves from judgment?
What if we were kind to each other again? I personally have experienced a softening in my heart and showing kindness has been a common denominator in several conversations recently.
Speaking of Google, here is what I found to help us understand what kindness really is:
"Kindness is a type of behavior marked by acts of generosity, consideration, rendering assistance, or concern for others, without expecting praise or reward in return."
Let's try it and see if it works.
