6S is used for organizing and improving the workplace. Sometimes it is called 5S but it has become more common to add safety into the process. The name comes from the six steps to implement and each of the words starts with S: 1. Sort - Distinguish what is needed and what is not needed. 2. Set - A place for everything and everything in its place. 3. Scrub or Shine - Cleaning, and looking for ways to keep clean and organized. 4. Safety - Consider any past injuries along with any potential injuries. 5. Standardize - Maintain and monitor the first three categories. 6. Sustain - Stick to the rules. Do you need inspiration? You can implement 6S in your own home! Start with your silverware drawer. Sort: Dump everything out and sort each fork, knife, and spoon. Set: You may have other miscellaneous items, like straws or toothpicks. Determine if you want those items in this drawer. If you want them in the drawer, where should they be located? Scrub or Shine: ...

Does anyone else have a strong desire to travel right now? Maybe it's the spring break season or the fact that I spent so many years in the travel industry. It may even be the "fault" of my parents who were always planning trips and adventures for us kids when we were growing up. Either way, I must wanderlust.   Do you struggle with prioritizing your tasks? It's "Tammy's Tiny Tip Tuesday" where I share bite-sized nuggets of information regarding time management, that are easy to digest. We will build on these small habits weekly. First, see tip #12 from last week. When we know what is important, we can prioritize easier because the things that are important are our priorities. Seems simple, right? This is assuming you have read through the 12 tips leading up to this one and have taken action to understand the types of tasks in your day and how you currently spend your time on those tasks. Hopefully, you have done some root-cause-analysis, decluttering, and delegating so you have a little more freedom and flexibility in your schedule to re-examine your priorities. Remember we are not looking for perfection, just better than you were. If you spent time on something that should have not been a priority, give yourself some grace, reflect on why that may have happened, and...

Change someone's life. One of the many blessings I have been reflecting on lately is the amazing clients who have crossed my path so far. They have hired me for various projects and have all had a wide variety of needs. I have built excellent relationships with them as I share my knowledge and experience with them, and they share their obstacles and concerns. The thing is, I have gained so much from them! The collaboration on these projects and the synergy that is ignited has made me even better and for that, I am incredibly grateful. #motivationalmonday #selfimprovement https://expanding-excellence.com/f/change-someones-life

Last week's Financial Friday post was about serving others, this week, I share another way to improve your finances in that same spirit: to give generously. One of the common reasons that we run into financial trouble is because we are obsessed with stuff, then we need to buy stuff to organize the stuff, then we then often need to pay to store the stuff. Do yourself a favor and stop the madness. If you are paying to store your stuff, chances are good that you don't need that stuff, so get rid of it. This is where we should give generously to those in need. Someone in need may include a neighbor who recently lost their job and who is struggling, or a family you know who just lost everything in a fire or natural disaster. Maybe there is a garage sale at your church or organization that is raising money to help the poor. Search out causes and find ways to give generously, it will do your heart good. My motto this year is "have less to be more". #financialfriday #f...
