Is this a need or a want? Groceries is a need, eating out is a want.
Ok, so you have reflected on your past spend, created a budget and are living within your means, now we want to work on getting rid of debt. This was a big step for me because it was so easy to get credit cards and loans, I thought that this is just how everyone lives, in debt. Now that I am on the other side and debt free it is an amazing feeling that is hard to describe but I will talk more about it over the next couple of weeks when we talk about credit card debt and consumer debt. Most experts recommend the rolldown method and that is what I used. The idea is to list all of your debt, how much you owe, the interest and the terms. As you have made some cuts in your budget, have a side gig, or any time you have a little extra, apply that to the highest interest debt first. Put everything you can to paying off that debt then take that payment and apply it to the next highest debt until that is paid off. It may seem like a huge mountain to climb right now but trust me, you will be surprised how fast you will gain momentum. Do not delay, start today.
