This is a common term used lately as I am attending seminars and working with clients. We talk a lot about "emergent leaders" or "emergent products" but what does that mean? Emergent is a bit of a fluid process of becoming prominent or stepping up. An emerging leader is one who seems to have a smooth almost effortless flow to their growth, someone who is a "natural" or has "it" and yet not someone who is entitled or expected to have the job.
