Retrospective is my life.


Seriously I am reflecting almost daily, to the point that it may sound like I am living in the past, but I am not.


As a process improvement professional, I have learned the value of understanding how we currently do something and what we have already done in order to do it better.


When I am working on a project I log tasks and events, have weekly meetings with my stakeholders, and document everything.


Then at the completion of the project I schedule a retrospective meeting where we can analyze and talk about what worked and what did not, and with that new knowledge and experience, we can do better.


Make sure to include a retrospective meeting after your projects, as painful as they may seem at first, you will learn a lot and your projects and teams will improve because of it.
