Look around, do you see clutter?
Did you know that the clutter is impacting your time management and your mental health?
By clutter, I am referring to those items around your home, car, or office that accumulate but you don't necessarily use. Clutter can be digital - unorganized files or documents on your computer or a lot of emails in your inbox.
You may not realize it but clutter increases stress and can make it difficult to focus and saps motivation. At a time when we have constant distractions, making it hard to think clearly already, try to prioritize reducing your clutter today.
Start by clearing all papers. In this digital age, there really is no reason to have papers around. Take all papers and put them into 1 pile. Start from the top and work your way down. There are only 3 real dispositions: take action, toss, or file.
If you need to take action on something then add it to your task list then designate where this resource will live until you complete that task (like a file), and reference that file in your task description if needed.
"Toss" is easy. Sometimes we hold onto notes and documents well after we have completed the task and they just need to be tossed.
Then there are some documents or notes that should be saved for some reason, and just need to be filed. I downloaded a scanner app to my phone so I can save all of my files digitally making them easy to retrieve if needed, on other devices.
